Expectant glares greet me from your front seat and I reluctantly remove my headphones and sit up. We're still in the car and the road is lined on either side and above with lights, the same lights as every year, the same bulbs, the same patterns, the same one eyed jelly babies. The harbour wall jutted out into the sea, a stone peninsula. You strode off towards the end and stood with your toes curved over the edge, and watched the calm of the sea as it approached. I stood in the middle with my back to you looking towards the town. The pastel colours of the cottages that cluttered the hill were still visible in the dark, illuminated by the string of fairy lights that connected each lamp-post around the harbour. Manic Street Preachers gigs used to be something of an early Christmas present. Once I was old enough to go, during the This is my Truth... era, they were playing sold out arena tours. We'd arrive early in the morning, walk past the people camped outside the entrance to the arena in the sleeping bags waiting to get to the very front, spend the day Christmas shopping in Manchester, arrive back at the arena already tired and be close to passing out by the end of the gig. You'd hope that your first outdoor concert wouldn't fall on the back of a typical British summer, when the North West shared in Northern Ireland's misery as the rain refused to stop. But it'd take more than rain to deter a 50,000 strong crowd packed into the Lancashire County Cricket Club, one of the two venues that Muse would play in their UK stadium tour. ~Let's try this again

Wow, so it's nearly 3 years since I last used this account properly, for one reason and another.  I really want to get back in to writing as much as I used to, and I figured becoming more active on here again might be one way to motivate me. So, I'm going to start clearing up my gallery, scrapping some stuff, and uploading some new stuff that I've written since I last posted here. In the meantime, I can also be found wasting my life on tumblr here. It's mainly just me flailing about music and football but I'm hoping to post work there too - rough drafts and stuff will probably end up there initially. And thankyou to everyone who is still
